Our Reading and Writng Program is an integrated part of our Thai Fluency Course. If you are enrolled in the Fluency Course, it's not necessary to study Reading and Writing separately.

Reading and Writing is open to students who have an understanding equivalent of AT 5. Though our program is designed for those who have studied with us from the start, we do accept students with various backgrounds. The first 3 writing levels use a textbook. Following this, students progress to Levels 4 and 5, and ultimately to the Government P6 examination for which we offer a special preparation class.

R/W Requirements

• Outside students must be able to carry on an average conversation in Thai before they are accepted into the R/W Program.
• Only those students who study in AT 5-10 are eligible for our R/W Program. You may do a self-test by looking at one or our level 5-10 videos. If you find the conversation easy to follow, you probably qualify for our Reading and Writing Program

The government's Thai Language Competency Preparation Course

(before this test was called the P6) is for advanced writing student who wish to pass the Thai Language equivalence examination, This test is offered once, in December of each year. Our preparation course for this exam begins on September 1.

Note: Writing courses are an integrated part of our Fluency Course and need not be taken separately.

Books

For Reading and Writing 1, 2, and 3, we use AUA's R&W books. This is a two book set including a Textbook and a Workbook. These books are available through our bookstore at our Rajadamri campus, or you are able to order by email. The cost of each book is 250 THB plus shipping.

R&W Tutor

Price per hour: 450 Baht Our Reading and Writing classes are available to students who have an excellent grasp of the spoken language already. (equivalent to a Level 5 student in our Fluency Course). We take you from the very basics in Reading to advanced Writing, in much the same way as a 4 year old learns to read and write in her native language.
